UML tool support for PIM4SOA

Description

The following features have been developed for Eclipse 3.1.x:

1. EKA Metamodel Feature contains plugins that implements the EKA metamodel in the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF).
2. PIM4SOA Metamodel Feature contains plugins that implements the PIM4SOA metamodel in the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF).
3. PIM4SOA to XSD Transformation Feature contains model transformations that support the generation of XSD files from a PIM4SOA model.
4. PIM4SOA to WSDL Transformation Feature contains model transformations that support the generation of WSDL files from a PIM4SOA model.
5. PIM4SOA Utilities Feature.

Installation

To install the features for Eclipse 3.1.x follow these instructions:

• Select "Help->Software Update->Find and Install..." from Eclipse.
• Select "Search for new features to install".
• Add a "New Remote Site...".
• Enter "http://www.modelbased.net/pim4soa/update".
• Select the update site.
• Select the features to install.
• Accept the terms in the license agreements and install the features.
• Select the install location.

Description

The following features have been developed for Rational Software Modeler (RSM):

1. POP* Profiles for RSM Feature contains a set of UML profiles and libraries supporting enterprise modelling.
2. PIM4SOA Profiles for RSM Feature  contains a set of UML profiles and libraries supporting platform-independent modelling of service-oriented architectures.
3. PIM4SOA Datatypes for RSM Feature contains a set of UML libraries containing platform-independent datatypes.
4. Web Services Profiles for RSM Feature contains a set of UML profiles and libraries supporting Web service standards such as XSD, WSDL and BPEL.
5. EKA Metamodel Feature contains plugins that implements the EKA metamodel in the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF).
6. PIM4SOA Metamodel Feature contains plugins that implements the PIM4SOA metamodel in the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF).
7. MTF Transformation Feature contains a set of model transformations developed for the Model Transformation Framework (MTF).
8. PIM4SOA to XSD Transformation Feature contains model transformations that support the generation of XSD files from a PIM4SOA model.
9. PIM4SOA to WSDL Transformation Feature contains model transformations that support the generation of WSDL files from a PIM4SOA model.
10. PIM4SOA Utilities Feature.

Installation

To install the features for RSM follow these instructions:

• Select "Help->Software Update->Find and Install..." from RSM.
• Select "Search for new features to install".
• Add a "New Remote Site...".
• Enter "http://www.modelbased.net/pim4soa/rsm-update".
• Select the update site.
• Select the features to install.
• Accept the terms in the license agreements and install the features.
• Select the install location, typically "C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\SDP\6.0\rsm\eclipse" under Windows.
